Swaras is a semi classical pop/rock band from Toronto, Canada, formed in June 2009 by Asad R. Qizilbash who is also the lead vocalist and composer of the bands music. Influenced by Nustrat Fateh Ali Khan, Shafqat Amanat Ali, Junoon, JOSH, Kishore Kumar, Lenny Kravitz, Matt Dusk and John Mayers music.

Swaras consists of only two band members Asad Q. and Hassan R. Bokhari who is the lead guitarist and composer of the band as well.

Check out Swaras debut single Aag Kuch Aysi Lagi, the single is not only a great blend of classical eastern vocals and western rock tunes but also fusing world music in every composition, in this track they have amalgamated African Conga Drums which turned out beautifully.

The single has been selected to be a part of Canadian Heritage at The National Library of Archives in Ottawa Canada.
