Metz & Trix grow a moustache for charity

PrintReport Tweet This Share on facebook Share

Manchester born and bred, Metz & Trix including their official DJ and Manager Robin Bedi have cast aside thier razors as part of a month-long moustache growing charity event.

Already established artists within the Asian music scene and regarded as pioneers of the great MC/Bhangra fusion during the late nineties. These mc's phenomenal music style incorporates influential MC lyrics in English, RnB, Urban hiphop, UK Garage and Drum and Bass, which is uniquely blended with traditional Bhangra to give a greater uplifting style for all to hear.

Leading the campaign within the South Asian community the Mc's say they want to raise as much awareness as possible for prostate cancer by supporting The Movember Foundation, which encourages men around the world to grow a moustache and turn November into Movember. The Mc's already support the 'Save a life' campaign which raises awareness within the Black and South Asian Community to register as donors.

To date Movember, which partners with The Prostate Cancer Charity, has raised over £30 million globally for the fight against prostate cancer and depression in men and, most importantly, created rising awareness of men's health issues.

The three of us Myself (MC Metz) Robinder Bedi and Trix MC have taken up the challenge to change our appearance and the face of men's health by growing a moustache. The moustache is our ribbon, the means by which we shall raise awareness especially among the South Asian community for prostate cancer. Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, our commitment is to grow a moustache for 30 days - MC Metz

Some mo'info to add to this subject..

"Only about one in 10 prostate cancers detected by screening actually poses a threat to a man's life, according to a new analysis conducted by researchers from the University if Cambridge".

"A common prostate cancer treatment may significantly increase men's risk of heart problems, according to a study conducted by researchers from King's College London and presented at a joint meeting of the European Cancer Organization and the European Society for Medical Oncology in Berlin".

"If none of the men diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer were ever treated, 97 percent of them would still survive the disease, according to a study conducted by Swedish researchers and published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute".

"As many as 50 percent of all prostate cancer diagnoses may be cases of over-diagnosis, according to a study published in the British Medical Journal".

Funny how these cancer fear marketers never tell the whole story..

Nobody get's cured from junk science but many profit from selling fear..
