Sona Walia arrived on the Asian music scene in 2008 with a bang. Her debut album Resham Di Dori made an instant mark in the Bhangra industry both in the UK and internationally. The hit song Akhiyan Tere Naal was featured in on of UK's biggest soaps Eastenders in December 2009. With the success of the album came the prestigious award of the Best Debut – Female at the PTC Music Awards 2009 (India) and Best Debut – Female at the UK Bhangra Awards 2009.

The standards had been set with her debut album and it meant that Sona Walia had a lot to live up to with her next release. Kuri Punjaban was released in 2010 and again its achievements were beyond expectations. Sona even received recognition from the All Party Parliamentary Group in Britain as they honoured her in the House Of Commons for her contribution to Punjabi culture.

To promote her mother tongue and Punjabi culture she has been touring non stop. France, Spain, Canada, Dubai and India to name a few of the countries. As well as performing at big melas, festivals and concerts, Sona has been supporting charities through her art. Sona Walia also performed at the Royal wedding celebrations in 2011 – an event to celebrate the marriage of Prince William to Kate Middleton.

Sona has in her short career worked with many of the leading Punjabi artistes – Manjal Singh, Labh Janjua, Feroze Khan and Apache Indian as well as many others.

Sona Walia has also anchored the singing project. Voice of Punjab for PTC India working with Bollywood stars like Jaspinder Nirula and Jimmy Shergill amongst others. She is now working on a Punjabi film project and further details relating to that will be released soon.

Since the beginning of her career – Sona Walia has made progress at an astonishing pace and has been rushed off her feet with projects and tours and her busy schedule has allowed very little time for work on her new album. However she has started work on her 3rd album and the first song Nach Lai is ready for release. The song is produced by the reknowned Indian Producer Tejwant Kittu and is a sure fire hit dance number.

As with previous releases Sona has held on to her roots and the song is a testament to both singer and producer as they stay true to Punjabi music and culture. The title Nach Lai suggests that it is a dance number and that is exactly what you can expect.  Nach Lai is sure to be the anthem of 2011 as it will be heard at weddings parties and festivals all around the world over and over again.
