Raj and Pablo's Bollywood Compilation Album Love Bollywood Out Now!
Bollywood IT Boys, Raj and Pablo yesterday celebrated the release of Love Bollywood, a Bollywood compilation album releasing on EMI Records. The album features over 30 of the duos favourite tracks from their acclaimed weekend radio show on BBC Asian Network, ranging from great classics such as Dum Maro Dum (from the film Hare Rama Hare Krishna) to the very latest hits such as Zoobi Doobi from 3 Idiots. Love Bollywood hit shops yesterday and launched amongst traditional Bollywood song & dance at a launch party held at the BBC Club.
Raj and Pablo have handpicked the songs that are to be featured on this album, and are extremely excited about the venture: We really enjoyed the selection process for the songs, although it's no mean feat trying to select just a few songs from hundreds of great tracks! It did however give us a chance to listen to some older songs that we hadn't played for a while! All the songs on the album are our favourites from BBC Asian Network's "Love Bollywood" radio show, we trust they are your favourites too.
The launch event was hosted by glamorous Bollywood babe Sophiya Haque (Bombay Dreams, Coronation Street, Wanted) who introduced Raj and Pablo as pioneers of bringing Bollywood into the mainstream. Britain's Got Talent finalists Threebee, one of the UK's best loved Bollywood dance groups, then took to the stage to a rapturous reception, dancing to hits from Raj and Pablo's definitive album.
Love Bollywood is on sale now, just in time for Diwali. The range of songs selected reflect the contrast of music in contemporary Bollywood, with film favourites such as Tere Liye from Veer Zara sitting alongside party anthems like Twist (from Love Aaj Kal), demonstrating Bollywood's musical variety and vibrancy.
The pair continue: Through our Love Bollywood show, we have been fortunate enough to meet and interview pretty much every star to come out of Bollywood, and because of that relationship, we get to play the best music from Bollywood, we hope the public will enjoy the best of Bollywood music that we have been able to choose for the Love Bollywood album.
Attending the press launch at the BBC Club, Eastenders star Nina Wadia said: Having first introduced Raj&Pablo to each other years ago, I know them both very well and am delighted that they are releasing this fantastic compilation album. The essence of Bollywood touches millions of film lovers globally and the Indian film industry is the largest film industry in the world. 'Love Bollywood' is an album which perfectly captures the sound of Bollywood and there's a song on there for everyone.
The album releases on EMI TV, an integral division of EMI Music, is best known for producing the biggest selling compilation series ever, Now That's What I Call Music!, which has sold over 77 million copies in the UK and Eire since 1983.
Love Bollywood is out now in the UK and Ireland.
