Emraan Hashmi won't be a part of the sequel to Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. Though it was announced that Akshay Kumar would be stepping into the shoes of Dawood Ibrahim for this Milan Luthria film, there were speculations around Emraan having a part to play in the sequel.

"It is going to be an entirely different cast for Once Upon A Time In Mumbai 2", informs a source, "There were murmurs around Emraan stepping into the film for a few days to shoot a few flashback sequences. However, these speculations have turned out to be baseless. There never was any scope for Emraan to join the film from the very first day."

However, the actor wasn't sure about it at least around the time when the film was announced with Akshay. He had then said, "I don't know whether I am a part of the sequel or not. So far neither Ekta nor Milan have informed me about it. I am not sure."

"I am not a part of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2. I was never approached for it either", Emraan sets the records straight, "I have no complaints though. As makers, Milan and Ekta have the right to go for anyone who they find suitable for a role. It is entirely their prerogative."
