The Bollywood king of comedy capers Akshay Kumar has teamed up with Himesh Reshammiya to produce a new film it has been confirmed.

Khiladi 786 – Made in Punjab will star Akshay Kumar in the leading role alongside Himesh himself, although a leading heroine is yet to be finalised. Reportedly Paresh Rawal also features as Himesh’s characters father in the film.

The film will be directed by Ashish R. Mohan, who has been an associate director to Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal trilogy. The storyline of the film and music will be composed by Himesh. The production is a joint venture with Eros International and Akshay Kumar’s entertainment company Hari Om Entertainment.

Akshay has featured in 7 Khiladi films over his career including Khiladi (1992), Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Sabse Bada Khiladi (1995), Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (1996), Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi (1997), International Khiladi (1999) and Khiladi 420 (2000).

Diwali 2012 has already been secured for the film’s release date. Judging by Akshay’s comedy track record Desi-Box is sure that the film will be one entertaining laugh-out-loud comedy.
