Yamla Pagla Deewana may have emerged a Box Office success but has now found itself in the midst of a controversy. Apparently, Tips Music Industries has filed a case against the makers of Yamla Pagla Deewana for using few of their songs in the film without obtaining the required rights. The songs in question include popular hits from the Tips audio library such as 'Pardesi Pardesi' (Raja Hindustani), 'Chori Chori Jab' (Kareeb) and 'Teri Adaaon Pe' (Barsaat) and have been used for a few seconds in the film.

Confirming this story, Kumar Taurani, head honcho of Tips Music Industries says, Yes our lawyers have filed a case against the makers of YPD for using some of our songs in the film without obtaining the required rights. Before the release they did approach us to use some of our songs from the Tips library in the film. I told them to get in touch with the head of our music department and obtain the required rights legally but they didn't bother to do that.

Apparently, Tips has filed a case claiming compensation to the extent of Rs.1 crore. The verdict is yet to be announced.
