Interview with Baba Kahn, Lomattic & Sunny Brown
The trio (Baba Kahn, Lomattic and Sunny Brown) from Canada has attempted to start a brand new movement, from the looks of it, they have succeeded. On November 3rd 2009, the trio dropped their new album “Culture Shock Two: Blackmarket Edition” as available for free download for the whole world!
Jas from the Desi-Box.com Team had the privilege to interview the 747 Trio. Check out the interview below!

Jas DB: First off just want to congratulate you fellas on a great album drop! The music is CRAZY!
Culture Shock Trio: Thanks a lot it’s been an amazing ride and we have been getting a lot of support from our fans.
01. Jas DB: Baba, having been on the music scene for over a decade now through your DJ skills, what in particular in this album do you think defines you, and defines this new movement?
Baba Kahn: I have always tried to be different and unique. I have never wanted to do what the other guy was doing. So when we produced this album I made sure that we were putting out music that was not like the music currently out in the market. I wanted to make sure that anyone whether they were Indian or non-Indian are able to listen and vibe to our music. This is what defines me in this album and what essentially our movement, because our music is for the masses.
02. Jas DB: How did the trio first meet?
Baba Kahn: Lomaticc had always been emailing me asking me to listen to his music, but I never had the time to listen to it. One day I said let me listen to this kid and see what he’s got. I listened to Kini Soni Lagdia and I was very impressed and I brought him into the studio and we immediately started working together. Lomaticc also mentioned that he had been working with a Punjabi /Hindi singer named Sunny Brown, he showed me some of his music at which point I said get him into the studio right now!!! Once we got into the studio it was instant magic and the Culture Shock Trio were born.
03. Jas DB: Why did you three decide to give the album for free?
Baba Kahn: We felt by giving this album out for free we are showing our fans how much we love their support and that in the same time everybody no matter who they are would be able to get our album.
04. Jas DB: You guys have a great mix, Lomaticc with the R’n’B, Sunny Brown with the desi flavor, and Baba Kahn producing and bringing it all together, what has kept the three of you close and in turn drop heavy hits like “Tonight” and the recently released “Dil?”
Baba Kahn: We just feed off each other. When the three of us get into the studio we just have fun, which is displayed in our music. We just love where we are right now and that’s what makes us stick together.

The guys have been known to drop music with big names on the tracks, like Fat Man Scoop, Kardinal Offishal, and the great rap star Twista.
05. Jas DB: How did it feel for each of you to work with such great artists?
Baba Kahn: The guys were great. We had good time making music with them. They are all very humble and liked what we were doing as a group. So it was very eas to work with them.
06. Jas DB: Did you receive any advice from them that may have affected your decision to drop a free album?
Baba Kahn: Not really because of they normally sell their album in the mainstream world not that many artist give out there music for free.
07. Jas DB: Any other collaborations we should look out for?
Baba Kahn: We have a track called “Exed-Up” that will feature rap superstar “Fabolous” and we are working on some other deals but we cannot say right now.
Sunny Brown is the infamous Punjabi vocalist within the trio.
08. Jas DB: Sunny, do you write your own Punjabi lyrics?
Sunny Brown: Yes I write all of my own lyrics.

09. Jas DB: How long have you been singing for?
Sunny Brown: Well over 5 years now.
Lomaticc brings the hot R’n’B flava into the mix.
10. Jas DB: Lomaticc, what would you say is your inspiration for these ill lyrics you spit out?
Lomaticc: Simply put its all about the ladies.I have been with some good ones and some bad ones. So you can say that a lot of my music came from personal experience.
11. Jas DB: How did you come up with the stage name “Lomaticc?
Lomaticc: My actual name is Lomus and everyone use to call me a fanatic because I was crazy about music. So I put both my names together and that’s where Lomaticc came from. Not the craziest story but hey that’s how the name was born.
With “Culture Shock Two: Blackmarket Edition” being just released, all eyes are now on the next installment, with a feature from the infamous Fabolous….
12. Jas DB: How did you get a hold of Fabolous to drop some lines in “Exed up?”
Baba Kahn: Working in the clubbing industry I do parties with numerous different artists and Fabo was an artist that I had the pleasure of working with on a party with during the summer time. I showed him what we were doing and I asked him if he could feature on a track and next thing you know “Exed Up” was born.

13. Jas DB: What can the fans expect, especially since the current album is mind blowing?
Baba Kahn: A mix of our usual high-energy music with our own twist that make us stand out from the rest.
14. Jas DB: Can we expect an official video coming out soon for one of the tracks?
Baba Kahn: Right now our next video will be potentially for “Dil” (Heart) with a certain rap superstar making an appearance in our video.
15. Jas DB: Finally, leave us with a few words for the fans.
Culture Shock Trio: We love you all and thanks for all the support. Download the album from www.747records.com and make sure you join our movement.
