BritA Boxing hosts charity event to launch the first ever British Asian Boxing Championships

BritA Boxing (BAB), the UK's only organisation designed to celebrate and encourage young British Asian boxing talent will be hosting their inaugural event at the East End's Troxy on Sunday 23rd May 2010.

This event will bring together a plethora of fighters from across the UK in aid of the Haiti Earthquake Appeal. Headlining the event will be former ABA Champion and England International, Tony Cesay. Not only will there be opportunity to witness some superb boxing, entertainment will also include live performances from British Asian music stars Mumzy Stranger and Tasha Tah

Showcasing some of the current British Asian talent such as, Mow Banglaman, Mohammed Jubran, Ash Khan and Naz Mumin, the event will highlight the support the BAB has so far received from the boxing world.

Discussing BritiA Boxing, boxing promoter Walid Ali commented, "Sporting needs of the Asian community need to be addressed and this organisation is taking positive steps forward, not only will it encourage new talent to come forward but also highlight the growth and importance of British Asians in boxing."

The organisers plan to host the first ever British Asian Boxing Championships for both semi professional and aspiring British Asian boxers nationwide and use this as a platform to encourage them in to the world of professional boxing.

The event is also supported by prominent ethnic media, BritAsian.com, and Asian Star Radio.
