The inaugural Football All-Star Tournament (FAST) took place on Sunday 27th September at Broadfields Country Club in North Harrow. The event, organised by Voodoo Entertainment and Media Moguls was in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital and saw 16 British Asian teams take part in a five a side tournament.

On a fun day for all, teams such as B4U, Desihits.com and Asiana magazine took to the field. Gurinder Chadha, director of hit movie "Bend it like Beckham" took part and entered a team of players from her upcoming 2010 release "It's a Wonderful Afterlife".

"This is a fantastic event to be involved in and it's for a brilliant cause. It's encouraging to see the British Asian community out in force for Great Ormond Street Hospital" said Gurinder Chadha.

Star players included former Eastenders actor Ray Panthaki, Brit Asian boy band 3Mix and UK rapper Shizzio.

Asjad Nazir, showbiz editor of Eastern Eye said "It was great to take part and play in an entertaining tournament. There should be more events like this, where the community comes together for a worthwhile cause".

After a hard fought and exciting tournament, the final was between leading Asian women's magazine Asiana and local events management company Zen Events, with the latter emphatically triumphing 6 - 0 and becoming the first team to pick up the trophy.

A cheque for the funds raised will be presented to the Great Ormond Street Hospital next month.

Media Moguls and Voodoo Entertainment plan to make this an annual event and preparations are well under way for next year, with many teams already pledging their support.
