Last night was the UK Asian Music Awards (UKAMA) 2012 Nomination launch party, The most prestigious Asian music awards ceremony in the UK to celebrate some of the finest asian talent in the music industry. The night hosted in London brought the entire music industry together to recognise the achievements of the last year but also to reveal the winner of the Nokia Unsigned Competition.

To kick start the evening the top 3 nominees of the Nokia Unsigned Competition all performed a song each before the melodious voice of Amanjot Sangha stole the competition and bagged her the title. Amanjot will now prepare for the ultimate prize of a prime time shot on one of the UK's largest awards show. Below are the final nomination categories for this years UK AMA awards, this year has been particularly tough on the Judges!

Nominees Best Alternative Act are: Nitin Sawhney, Asian Dub Foundation, Niraj Chag, Rumer and Raghu Dixit.

Nominees for the Best International Act are: Rahat Ali Khan, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Shreya Ghoshal, Gurdaas Maan and Mika Singh.

Running for Best International Album are: Yo Yo Honey Singh for "International Villager", Miss Pooja for "Breathless", Amrinder Gill for "Judaa", Gurdaas Maan for "Jogiya" and Satinder Sartaaj for "Cheery Wala".

Nominees for Best Asian Radio Show are: Noreen Khan - from the BBC Asian Network, Nihal from Radio 1, Sunny and Shay from BBC London, Bobby Fricktion from the BBC Asian Network and Neev from Kiss 100.

Battling it out for the Best Club DJ Award are: DJ H, Jags Klimax, DJ Kayper, Panjabi Hit Squad and DJ Fricktion.

The Best Producer Award is up for grabs by: Naughty Boy, Surinder Rattan, Dr. Zeus, PBN and DJ Sanj.

Up for Best Urban Act are: Metz and Trix, Raxstar, Arjun, Roach Killer and Mumzy Stranger.

Best Desi Act nominations are: Garry Sandhu, JK, DJ Sanj, Sukhshinder Shinda and RDB.

Nominations for the Best Video are: Jay Sean's "I'm all yours", MIA's "Bad Girls", Preeya Kalidas' "Love between us", "RDB's Sachi gal" and Foji's "Pumbeeri".

Best Album nominees are: Sukshinder Shinda's "Rock the Party", JK's "Gabru Punjab Da", PBN's "Me, Myself and Music", Panjabi Hit Squad's "World Famous" and Aman Hayer's "The Entourage".

The Best Newcomer nominees are: Junai Kaden, Shide Boss, Kanika Kapoor, Romy Shay and Banger Artist.

Battling for Best Female Act are: MIA, Preeya Kalidas, Nindy Kaur, Tasha Tah and Kanika Kapoor.

Battling for Best Male Act are: Jay Sean, Ash King, Garry Sandhu, H-Dhami and Jazzy B.
